The assessment of a couple having trouble conceiving covers both partners. At the first visit we take a history and do an ultrasound, and plan hormone tests, a tubal patency test and a semen analysis. Based on the results we discuss which option fits: ovulation tracking, IUI or IVF.
In IVF the ovaries are stimulated with medication, the eggs are collected and joined with sperm in the laboratory. The resulting embryo is transferred to the womb. The steps, the timeline and the possible side effects are explained in detail at the visit.
